Police yesterday raided the Dutch home of Rwandan politician Victoire Ingabire in Zevenhuizen in Zuid-Holland, the public prosecution department has confirmed.

The house was searched and computers and documents taken away. The raid was carried out at the request of the Rwandan authorities, ANP said. Her partner and eight-year-old son were home at the time.
Alexander Pechtold, leader of the D66 Liberal party, has called on the foreign minister to explain the reasons behind the raid.
Ingabire, widely regarded as Rwanda’s opposition leader, was arrested in October after returning to Rwanda at the beginning of this year. She is charged with the formation of a terrorist organization that aims to disrupt the territorial security of Rwanda.
