XTC
XTC is the Dutch way of spelling the party drug ecstasy. Ecstasy has gone up in popularity in the Netherlands over the past 10 years – a national survey in 2013 found that one in three frequent partygoers, festivalgoers and clubbers (with a predilection for techno and house music) were current ecstasy users. The Dutch province of Noord-Brabant is said to be at the centre of the local ecstasy production industry.
