Dutch News readers voted for a two party coalition made up of the Liberal party D66 and the left-wing green alliance GroenLinks PvdA in the traditional Dutch News online poll.

In total, over 1,500 people took part in the vote, in which D66 won 31% and GL-PvdA took 29% – reversing the trend set in the pre-election poll earlier this month.

The results had the far right PVV in third place with 10%, the VVD in fourth with 6% and the pro-European Volt in fifth with 5%.

Readers were also given a choice of the five biggest party leaders as prime minister.

GL-PvdA leader Frans Timmermans won that online election with 39% of the votes. D66’s Rob Jetten was second with 35%, followed by Geert Wilders (13%), the CDA’s Henri Bontenbal (7%) and the VVD’s Dilan Yesilgöz (6%).
