The Netherlands is in for a spell of calm, spring weather, with temperatures rising to above 20° next week, according to weather bureau Weeronline.

The sun will break through on Friday afternoon and with temperatures of up to 16° it will feel warmer than in recent days. However, Weeronline warns, King’s Night will be chilly and revellers will need to take a coat, especially in the north where it could near freezing point.

King’s Day itself will be the first of a string of warm, sunny days, with the temperature ranging from 15° on the coast to 19° in the south and along the Belgian border. The sun will be strong and sunscreen, says Weeronline, will be essential.

By Sunday, the temperature will reach 20° in the south although it will be cooler elsewhere and there may be some high cloud away from the coast.

Monday and Tuesday will be warmer and it could reach 25° in the south. By next weekend, rain will become a little more likely but the forecasts, both from Weeronline and the KNMI, are still extremely uncertain well into May.
