Delays expected as The Hague main road shuts for Nato summit

Drivers in The Hague have been warned to expect disruption on one of the main routes heading in and out of the city as work begins to prepare for the Nato summit in June.
The Johan de Wittlaan, which connects Scheveningen to the Hubertustunnel and the A44 towards Amsterdam, is closed in one direction from Monday and will shut entirely from April 14 for four months.
Temporary offices are being constructed on the roadway for delegates to the Nato summit, which is being held at the World Forum on June 24 and 25. Trees, street lights and traffic lights are also being removed.
US president Donald Trump is expected to attend, Polish foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski said in Brussels on Friday, while Dutch foreign minister Caspar Veldkamp has said Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also be invited.
Whether Zelenskyy attends is likely to depend on the progress of negotiations between the US and Russia on the future of his country.
