Unilever sells The Vegetarian Butcher to JBS’s Vivera

Unilever is selling its meat replacement arm the Vegetarian Butcher to Vivera, as part of the sale of a number of brands announced last year.
Unilever bought the brand in 2018 from founder Jaap Korteweg and the company is now present in more than 55 markets worldwide.
Vivera, like the Vegetarian Butcher Dutch in origin, has been making vegetarian burgers, sausages and mince since 1990 and in 2021 was taken over by Brazilian meat giant JBS.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
