Three out of four golds for Dutch skaters at world championships

The medals kept on flowing for the Dutch distance skaters at the world championships in Hamar, Norway, on Friday night with three out of the four gold medals on offer.
In the men’s 500 metres, Jenning de Boo beat hot favourite Jordan Stolz and could barely contain his delight. “I am so, so happy,” the 21-year-old said after the race. American Cooper McLeod took the bronze.
Favourite Femke Kok won gold in the 500 metres, making it three in a row and managing to hold off a strong challenge from Jutta Leerdam. Kim Minsun of South Korea won the bronze.
The women’s team of Joy Beune, Antoinette Rijpma-de Jong, and Marijke Groenewoud also retained their team pursuit title, with Japan taking silver and Canada the bronze.
In the men’s team pursuit, Chris Huizinga, Beau Snellink, and Marcel Bosker won the bronze, with Italy in silver position and the US leading the pack.
On Saturday, the finals of the women’s and men’s 1,000 metres take place, as well as the men’s mass start and the women’s 5,000 metres.
