The weather is right for Saturday’s partial eclipse of the sun

Sky watchers may well be able to see a partial eclipse of the sun between 11:17 and 13:04 on Saturday morning.
The peak, when nearly a quarter of the sun will be hidden by the moon, is just after midday. The weather forecast, so far, is for a dry and sunny morning over most of the country.
The eclipse will appear as if a bite has been taken out of the top right of the sun, and will then rotate to the left as the moon passes.
To view the phenomenon, use special eclipse glasses to protect your eyes, project the sun onto another surface or go to one of the special locations where eclipse watches have been organised.
The next full eclipse of the sun that will be visible in the Netherlands won’t take place until 2135.
