Immigration minister Marjolein Faber is planning to make a formal police complaint about a poster carried at last weekend’s anti-racism demonstration featuring a photograph of herself with a drawn-on Hitler moustache.

Faber said on social media that comparing her with Hitler broke “every boundary”. “It is unacceptable to express political differences in this way,” she said, describing the poster as “pure libel and slander”.

Some 15,000 people took part in the demonstration in central Amsterdam which passed off peacefully with no arrests.
