A 28-year-old man has turned himself into Arnhem police saying he regrets carrying out an armed robbery on a petrol station nine years ago.

The public prosecution department is now considering what to do about the case. The man was 19 when he held up the petrol station on the Bellamystraat in Terneuzen, Zeeland and made off with several hundred euros.

Even though the shop worker was able to provide a description to police, the robbery remained unsolved. The man has also said he is willing to return the money.
