House prices virtually unchanged on January, more homes are sold

House prices in the Netherlands were in February up 10.6% on a year ago, but virtually unchanged on January, national statistics agency CBS said on Friday.
The slowdown is a sign that the market may now be levelling off, after rising continuously to November 2024, although economists say it is still too early to speak of a trend.
The statistics are based on transactions which have been included in the land registry records, and lag those produced by estate agents organisation NVM by several months.
The land registry office Kadaster noted 16,356 transactions in February, up 18% on a year ago, and taking the number of sales in the first two months of 2025 up 21%.
