Central station closed on Saturday as renovations continue

Dutch railway company NS has warned that there will be no trains to, from, and via Amsterdam’s central station on Saturday and only limited services on Sunday and Monday.
The restrictions on March 31 will mainly affect passengers from Haarlem and the north of the country, the NS said.
Travellers are being advised to use trains outside peak periods, and alternative routes and methods of travel will be put in place. The disruption is due to continuing renovations at the city’s main railway station.
“It has been a tremendous puzzle to make sure we can get our passengers to their destination, using deviations, extra staff, bus replacements, and the metro,” said NS regional director Irma Winkenius. “This work requires a lot of patience, including from our travellers, but it is needed to cope with future growth in numbers.”
Maintenance work is also set to have a major impact on train services to and from Groningen station from early May.
