Got a question about life in the Netherlands? Ask us anything

This month Dutch News is launching a new website section “Ask us anything” in which we will try to answer readers’ questions – whatever they may be.
If you have ever wondered why Dutch milk is in blue packets and yoghurt is in green, how the secondary school system works or even what those all elusive Dutch normen en waarden are, we’ll do our best to get you the right answers.
Feel free to ask us your practical questions as well. We’ve got a team of experts on hand to step in and help out if you’ve got legal or housing issues, or don’t know where to go for help in a specific situation. We can’t promise to deal with all your queries of course, but we will try to deal with at least some of them.
Got a question about Dutch politics, about the healthcare system or even Dutch etiquette (what do you take to a dinner party, for example)? We are on hand to help you out.
Either email editor@dutchnews.nl or ask your question via one of our social media channels: Bluesky, X, Facebook and Instagram
Thank you for donating to DutchNews.nl.
We could not provide the Dutch News service, and keep it free of charge, without the generous support of our readers. Your donations allow us to report on issues you tell us matter, and provide you with a summary of the most important Dutch news each day.
