Dutch woman, 21, dies after falling in skiing accident in France
A 21-year-old Dutch woman has died in hospital following a skiing accident in a French resort.
Local media reported that the woman fell at around 11am while skiing on the La Corniche piste in Val Thorens, in the department of Savoy.
The accident happened on a blue slope, indicating moderate difficulty, but the woman slid down onto a slalom run used for competitions.
A local ski patrol and medical support workers were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead soon after being taken to hospital in Grenoble.
No personal details of the victim have been disclosed.
