After a chilly weekend, with temperatures as low as -7.6° recorded on Sunday night, it is set to become warmer for a couple of days this coming week, weather bureau Weeronline said on Monday.

Monday will be cold with plenty of sunshine and night frosts, with temperatures dipping to as low as -6° in sheltered places, Weeronline said.

On Tuesday, however, the wind will shift to the southeast, bringing warmer weather and the chance of some rain on Wednesday.

The temperature will rise to as much as 8° by Tuesday and a degree or two higher on Wednesday, which is well above the average for the first week of February.

By Thursday, the picture will change again as the wind turns northeasterly, bringing back chilly days and light frosts at night.

Sunshine

Monday is set to be the sunniest day of the week, but there will be sunshine on most days, interspersed with cloud cover.

The KNMI’s long-range forecast indicates that the dry, chilly weather with night frosts is expected to continue well into February.
