AZ beat Heracles on penalties to complete KNVB Cup line-up
It took a tense round of penalties for AZ to beat Heracles of Almelo in the second KNVB Cup semi-final on Thursday night.
The game ended 2-2 after regular time, and neither side managed to score in extra time, forcing a switch to penalties, in which AZ eventually triumphed.
AZ will now face Go Ahead Eagles in the final in April, after Go Ahead defeated PSV 2-1 on Wednesday evening.
Currently fourth in the league, AZ last reached the cup final six years ago, when they were beaten 3-0 by Feyenoord.
