Strong winds on northern Dutch coast as Storm Éowyn hits Ireland
Storm Éowyn, which is set to batter Ireland and Britain with winds of up to 160 kph on Friday, will also have an impact on the Netherlands, weather forecasters say.
The fast-moving storm has been dubbed a “once in a century” occurrence and the British weather bureau Met Office has issued a code red weather warning for Ireland and parts of Scotland. Amber and yellow apply to the rest of the country.
The impact on the Netherlands will be more limited, but storm force winds of up to 100 kph could hit northwestern coastal areas in the afternoon, Weeronline said. The wind will die down in the evening as the storm moves over to Norway.
The weather in the Netherlands over the next few days is changeable, Weeronline said, with showers and sunny spells. Sunday is most likely to be dry, with temperatures of around 8°.
