Dutch speed skaters swept the board at the European sprint championships at the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen this weekend.

Jutta Leerdam won the women’s title for the third time, watched by her boxer boyfriend Jake Paul.  Femke Kok was a fraction behind Leerdam in the final race and took the silver while Suzanne Schulting, who also competes in the short track competition, won the bronze.

In the men’s event, 20-year-old Jenning de Boo was the clear winner, taking the top position in three of the four events. Merijn Scheperkamp won the silver and Tim Prins was third, to complete the all Dutch line-up.

Winning the sprint title involves two races over 500 metres and two over 1,000 metres.
