KLM is sending a plane to Oslo on Sunday afternoon to pick up passengers who have been stranded after the plane they were in was forced to make an emergency landing in the far south of Norway on Saturday evening.

The Boeing 737 was heading from Oslo to Amsterdam when the pilots heard a “loud noise” 20 minutes after take off. They decided to head for Torp Sandefjord airport rather than continue their journey.

The plane made an emergency landing but the pilots were reportedly unable to steer the aircraft and it left the runway, stopping in the grass.

None of the 176 passengers and six crew were injured and the passengers were taken by bus back to Oslo.

KLM technicians are due at the airport later on Sunday to try to find out what happened. According to some reports, the plane experienced problems with its hydraulics.
