Police are investigating the death of a person who was found following a fire at a flat in Drachten in Friesland.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning, was quickly brought under control but by then the person who lived there had already died. “Police have declared the flat a crime scene and are investigating,” a fire brigade spokesman told Omrop Fryslân.

In Dirkland, Zuid-Holland, a 15-year-old boy has died of injuries caused by a fire earlier on Monday. The cause of that fire is also unclear.
