16 Dutch players in this year’s darts world championships
A record 16 Dutch players are taking part in this year’s world darts championships at Alexander Palace in London, including two former champions and Noa-Lynn van Leuven, the first transgender women to take part in the competition.
In total 96 people are fighting for the trophy with the first matches taking place on Sunday and the final in two weeks time.
Three times world champion Michael van Gerwen, Raymond van Barneveld, who took the title in 2007, and youth world champion Gian van Veen are among the Dutch names to watch out for.
Favourite to win the €600,000 prize is 17-year-old English teenager Luke Littler, who lost the final to Luke Humphries last year.
