ProRail, unions reach a new pay deal, details next week
Railway maintenance company ProRail has reached agreement with the four rail unions about a new pay and conditions agreement, but the details have not yet been made public.
The breakthrough comes after five days of strike action across the country. The unions had called for pay rises varying from 8% to 13%, demands which ProRail had described as “unrealistic”.
The unions said on Tuesday that they would halt their industrial action because both sides were back at the negotiating table.
Unions will put the agreement to their members for approval next week.
