No rush hour trains between The Hague and Rotterdam

There are no rush hour trains between Rotterdam and The Hague on Monday morning because maintenance work from the weekend has not been completed in time.

Services between Hollands Spoor and Delft will be out until at least 9.15 am, rail company ProRail said. The first trains following the engineering work should have been up and running from 7.15.

The problem has led to extra pressure on services from Schiphol airport to Rotterdam and around The Hague itself, with NS advising passengers to use tram services instead.

This was the last weekend of major maintenance work on the track between the two cities.
