Booking plans reorganisation, job losses expected
Online travel agency Booking.com is considering cutting jobs as part of a review of its organisational structure, the company has said in a filing with the US securities and exchange commission.
The company employs some 5,000 people at its European headquarters in Amsterdam and as yet there is no word on what the impact will be on them.
However, the filing said that it is the company’s “intention to implement certain organisational changes” including “an expected workforce reduction.” It also said that the company will be consulting with works councils and employee representatives.
The announcement came days after parent company Booking Holdings posted a 13.6% rise in operating expenses for the third quarter.
