Minimum night temperatures will plummet to between 2° and 5° on Friday night, and there will be cloud and sunshine on Saturday, according to weather bureau Weeronline.

The KNMI weather service has issued a code yellow wind warning for the coastal areas of Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Friesland, Groningen, the IJsselmeer area and the Waddenzee from Saturday night expected to last until Sunday morning. Gusts can reach speeds of up to 95kph.

Sunday starts with intermittent showers but the sun will put in a more convincing appearance later on in the day. The temperature will be around 14° with a moderate wind.

After the weekend, the weather will remain unsettled but warmer air from a southerly direction could boost temperatures in some parts of the southern provinces to over 20° from Tuesday, Weeronline said.

The KNMI weather service predicts a 70% chance of mild, unsettled weather continuing into late October, with it becoming colder towards the end of the month.
