Police receive 35 tips following latest Identify Me appeal

Police received some 35 tips about two of the 11 Dutch cold cases included in the recently launched Identify Me appeal.

Five of the tips concerned a woman whose body was found in 2013 on the bank of the Pietersplas near Maastricht, with one of the tips suggesting a possible name.

The remaining 30 tips involved the body of a woman found in the dunes near Wassenaar 20 years ago, whose case was recently added to the database. These tips also contained “concrete information”, police said.

Identify Me was set up in 2023 to identify women who were found in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and has since been extended to include France, Italy and Spain. The database includes data such as facial reconstructions and other known data of 46 women, most of whom were murdered.
