Kilometre queue for new Efteling attraction Danse Macabre
A queue of over one kilometre built up at the Efteling amusement park on Thursday as people waited in line for the Halloween opening of new attraction Danse Macabre.
The first fans were waiting outside the gates of the Efteling at 6 am and by 7.30 am several hundred of people had joined the queue. The park normally opens at 10 am, but allowed visitors in an hour earlier.
“We knew it would be busy but this is way beyond what we expected,” the amusement park said.
Danse Macabre, which has been two years in construction and cost €35 million, replaces the old haunted castle Spookslot which opened in 1978.
“It’s fantastic,” said early visitor Amanda on social media. “An experience from beginning to end. There is so much to see you need to come more often”
“It left me speechless,” said Ramon. “It was much bigger and more intense than I had expected. I need to recover with popcorn and candy floss.”
