Autumn temperatures set to top 20° later this week
Monday and Tuesday will remain chilly with temperatures in the low teens, but it could top 20° in the Netherlands on Wednesday and Thursday, weather forecasters say.
Friday and next weekend will also be well above average for the time of year, as southeasterly winds bring in warmer air.
Despite the unseasonal temperatures, this week is unlikely to break any weather records, Weeronline said in its daily round-up. On October 16, 2017, for example, the temperature hit 24.4° at the De Bilt weather station, where official records are set.
According to weather bureau KNMI, there may be some rain in central parts of the country on Monday but Tuesday will be sunny all day as the temperature begins to rise.
Wednesday too will be dry with some high cloud but rain is likely in places on Thursday, when it could reach 22°.
The KNMI sees a mix of sunny spells and light showers continuing well into next week and above seasonal temperatures in the high teens stretching towards the end of the month.
