The Netherlands is in for some strong winds and heavy rain in the coming two days, but Thursday will still be relatively warm at 18°, weather forecasters say.

The wind could reach speeds of up to 70 kph along the coast overnight, with heavy rain at times. Friday will be windy and wet in coastal regions but the sun may shine for a time inland.

The KNMI has issued a code yellow weather warning for coastal regions on Thursday and Friday.

The temperature will drop to around 13° by the weekend, and the showers are set to continue, although Sunday may be largely dry. The wind will also drop.

The KNMI says there will be little change in the weather in the coming days, and the temperature will remain below the seasonal average.
