PSV Eindhoven maintained their perfect start to the season with a 3-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles to take a two-point lead into the international break.

Go Ahead were denied an early goal by an offside flag before Guus Til took down a loose ball on the penalty spot and slotted home to give PSV the lead after 11 minutes.

Hirving Lozano scored his fourth of the season just before the half-hour mark, before Malik Tillman set up Joey Veerman for a third in the second half. Luuk de Jong was taken off in the first half with a leg injury, but coach Peter Bosz said it was not a long-term issue.

AZ Alkmaar moved up to second with a simple victory at RKC, who are the only club without a point after four matches.

A first-half double by Ruben van Bommel and a late header by Mexx Meerdink secured the points, while RKC’s veteran striker Michiel Kramer marked his return to the club with a red card for elbowing Peer Koopmeiners in the face.

Utrecht beat FC Twente in a clash between two unbeaten clubs. Sam Lammers gave Twente an early lead with a crashing half-volley, but Jens Toornstra equalised almost immediately with a diving header.

Utrecht’s winner was initially disallowed after the ball appeared to have brushed Can Bozdogan’s hand before he scored, but after studying the footage extensively the video referee ruled there had been no contact.

Groningen unbeaten

Groningen also remain unbeaten so far after captain Leandro Bacuna scored in the 67th minute to cancel out Baptiste Guillaume’s first-half strike for Almere City, who picked up their first point of the season in the first ever meeting between the clubs.

Fortuna Sittard’s dream start to the season came off the rails at home to NEC, who won 3-0 with goals in the first half from Koki Ogawa and Rober González, before substitute Sami Ouaissa rounded off a counter-attacking move for a late third.

Heerenveen were the big winners of the weekend, hitting four in the second half against NAC to earn Robin van Persie his first three points as coach. Simon Olsson scored the first before setting up substitute Ion Nicolaescu for the first of his two late goals.

PEC Zwolle put their first points on the board with a well deserved win against Heracles. Dylan Vente turned in a rebound after Bulgarian striker Filip Krastev had seen his shot saved in the 13th minute, while Krastev had the last word when he bagged the third in injury time.

Willem II looked to have salvaged a point against Sparta when CIsse Sandra fired in a deflected equaliser six minutes from the end, but Camiel Neghli’s outstanding shot with the outside of his right boot earned the Rotterdammers the win.
