Rotterdam police’s cold case team has arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with a rape in 2004 after receiving new information about the case.

The rape happened in January that year and involved a group of five or six men who attacked a 30-year-old woman on the street and later in a nearby park.

Last week police made a television appeal for information and urged the men to come forward.

On Monday, a man was arrested in his home in the Kralingen district of the city. More arrests have not been ruled out.
