PSV share four-way Eredivisie lead, late NAC winner sinks Ajax
Champions PSV Eindhoven came back from a goal down against Heracles to top the Eredivisie after two matches.
Brian De Keersmaecker scored from the penalty spot after four minutes for Heracles after Bryan Limbombe was brought down in the penalty area.
PSV were on the back foot in the first half, but soon after the restart Guus Til pressured Ivan Mesik into scoring an own goal, before Johan Bakayoko put the visitors in front on 59 minutes. Couhaib Driouech added a third with a rasping shot just before the final whistle.
Feyenoord hit five against PEC Zwolle, including two for Santiago Gímenez and a goal by Calvin Stengs, who saw a €10 milion transfer to US club Charlotte FC fall through in midweek because of concerns about his long-term fitness.
Four of the goals came after half-time, after Igor Paixão had given Feyenoord an early lead by heading in a cross by new loan signing Hugo Bueno. Filip Krastev managed a late consolation for Zwolle with a shot into the top corner.
Ajax blow
Newly promoted NAC Breda stunned Ajax with a late goal from Belgian defender Jan van den Bergh, who headed in a free-kick in the second minute of injury time.
Ajax started with just three of the players who were involved in the marathon 13-12 win on penalties against Panathinaikos. New Zealander Matthew Garbett had given NAC the lead in the 58th minute, before Jorrel Hato equalised from a corner five minutes later.
Groningen continued their impressive return to the top flight with a 2-1 win at RKC, with 19-year-old Jorg Schreuders opening the scoring with a shot from the edge of the penalty area after 11 minutes. Thom van Bergen added a second after 77 minutes before Richard van de Venne pulled one back just before full-time.
The third promoted club, Willem II, followed up their opening-day draw at Feyenoord with a 2-0 win at home to Go Ahead Eagles. Kyan Vaessen scored a penalty after 21 minutes before Rogier Meerveld fired in a swerving shot from outside the area for the second.
Fortuna win again
Fortuna Sittard were too strong for Almere City as the Limburgers won 3-0, including a second of the season for Alen Halilovic, to win their opening two matches for the first time since 1987.
AZ Alkmaar also made it two wins from two matches as Sven Mijnants scored from a free-kick to secure the points against NEC.
Heerenveen drew 1-1 at home to Utrecht to earn Robin van Persie his first point as a coach, while FC Twente also had to settle for a draw against Sparta after a late strike by Tobias Lauritsen cancelled out Sem Steijn’s penalty.
