PSV Eindhoven smashed seven goals past Almere City to stand alone at the top of the Eredivisie as the only club with a 100% record from three matches.

Guus Til and Luuk de Jong put the champions 2-0 up within 15 minutes, and although Kornelius Hansen pulled one back for Almere early in the second half, PSV steamrollered their opponents with five goals in the last 25 minutes.

Head coach Peter Bosz admitted that he faced an uncertain week ahead, with several players including Walter Benitez and defender Oliver Boscagli looking to leave the club before the transfer deadline on August 30.

“The fact is that a number of the boys have made clear that they want to leave,” Bosz said. “I know a lot, but I don’t know if it’s going to turn out well for us. Am I losing sleep over it? Not for a moment.”

Two other teams with maximum points from their first two games, Groningen and AZ, played out a goalless draw in a match where AZ dictated the pace but the best chances fell to the newly promoted northerners.

Utrecht staged an astonishing comeback at NAC to join the clubs on seven points as Noah Ohio struck twice in injury time to overturn a 1-0 deficit. Boyd Lucassen had given the club from Breda the lead in the 36th minute with a scything volley.

Feyenoord draw

Feyenoord had to settle for a point in the Rotterdam derby after Camiel Neghli put Sparta ahead with a long-range lob over Timon Wellenreuther, who had rushed out of his penalty area to block the advancing Arno Verschueren.

Sparta’s goalkeeper Nick Olij, who has been linked with Feyenoord following the departure of Justin Bijlow to Southampton, kept a clean sheet for the first hour, but could do nothing to stop Quinten Timber’s close-range shot for the equaliser.

Willem II remain unbeaten after captain Jesse Bosch’s low volley in the 36th minute secured a point against Heracles. Juho Talvitie had opened the scoring four minutes earlier when he rounded off a move that he started with a dribble through the middle of Willem II’s defence.

Go Ahead Eagles’ goal drought ended in the third minute against RKC as Bobby Adekanye tucked away Finn Stokkers’ cutback, and Stokkers added a second from a corner to secure the Deventer club’s first points of the season.

NEC left it late against PEC, but a scrambled goal by Rober González in the 87th minute was enough to claim their first win of the season and leave the club from Zwolle pointless after three matches.
