More rain on the way, Sunday sees the best of the weekend
Summery weather is still a long way off, with a wet weekend ahead and temperatures below the seasonal norm, weather forecasters KNMI and Weeronline both say.
There may be some sunny spells on Saturday afternoon but the temperature will be no higher than 15° to 18°, which is cool for the time of year. Sunday will be generally drier and warmer in the south, but the rain will continue in northern parts.
Next week the temperatures will rise to the mid 20°s, but the sunshine will make way for more showers at times, possibly accompanied by thunder. Most of the rain will fall on Monday and Tuesday.
The KNMI’s long-term forecast sees a 70% likelihood of a return to cooler weather with showers heading up to the end of the month.
