The Dutch arm of clothing brand Scotch & Soda will not go through a second restart process and will shut down immediately, the curators have confirmed.

While there was interest in the outlets, Scotch & Soda’s US owners Blue Star Alliance were unwilling to sell the brand, the curators said on Wednesday. The company has 28 shops and a workforce of 320 in the Netherlands.

Shops in Luxembourg and Belgium will also close but talks are continuing to keep some stores open in Austria and Germany, the curators said.

Meanwhile, Dutch fashion house AARC Holding, which ran Ted Baker stores in Britain and the European mainland, has applied for court protection from creditors, RTL Nieuws reported on Wednesday.

Ted Baker was bought by US retail company Authentic Brands in 2022 and brought in AARC to run the European stores at the beginning of last year. Authentic Brands broke its ties with AARC this February, citing financial issues.
