A 20-year-old man has died after being struck by a speedboat near a marina near Aalsmeer.

The man, from the village of De Lier south of The Hague, was taken to hospital after the collision on Sunday evening, but did not survive his injuries.

The incident happened at around 5pm near the entrance to a marina in Kudelstaart, a village beside the Westeinderplassen lake complex.
