A few days of summer ahead, before the rain returns

The Netherlands is in for a short period of dry, warm, summer weather, weather forecasters said on Friday.

While there may be a few showers on Saturday, the next five days at least will be dry with sunshine and temperatures in the mid to high 20s, the KNMI weather bureau said. The best of the sunshine is set for midweek.

But by the end of next week, the rain, and possibly thunderstorms, could be back. And the first week of July is likely to be cooler with less sunshine.

Weather bureau Weeronline paints a similar picture. “By Thursday, there is a good chance that we will leave the summery weather behind us,” according to weatherman Berend van Straaten.
