Foster parents arrested after girl, 10, is seriously injured
Police are investigating a serious incident in Vlaardingen near Rotterdam in which a 10-year-old girl who was in foster care was seriously injured.
Her foster parents have both been arrested in connection with the incident and two other children living in the home have been taken away.
The girl was taken to hospital on Monday night a week ago with serious injuries and remains extremely ill in hospital, police say.
The foster parents, both aged 37, were arrested following a major investigation and door to door inquiries after the girl was taken to hospital.
They remain in custody and, according to the Telegraaf, face charges of attempted manslaughter and grievous bodily harm.
