Inflation falls to 2.7% in April, as fuel price rise slows
The annual rate of inflation fell to 2.7% in April as the rise in the price of energy and fuel slowed, national statistics agency CBS said on Tuesday in a flash forecast.
Inflation was 3.1% in March, after falling to 2.8% in February.
Energy prices rose less sharply than in March, keeping inflation down. But Dutch households spent more on groceries, alcohol and tobacco in April, when compared with the previous month, the CBS said.
Calculated according to the European method, inflation was 2.6% in April, after rising to 3.1% in March. European calculations do not take the cost of rental housing into account.
