Man, 37, dies after being dragged under tram in The Hague

A 37-year-old man has died after being dragged under a tram in The Hague, police have confirmed.

The man was found dead when the Line 1 tram came off the rails on Carnegieplein, behind the Peace Palace, at around 9.30pm on Sunday.

The victim was said to be a man with no fixed address. Police are investigating if the collision happened further down the line towards Plein 1813.

Passengers were escorted off the tram and have been offered victim support.
