Half of Dutch workers spend time working from home
Some 52% of the working population worked at home last year, the highest percentage in the EU, according to new figures from nationals statistics agency CBS.
Most of those who worked from home were based away from the office for up to 50% of their working week, the CBS said.
People who worked in tech and the creative industries were most likely to be home based – nine in 10 of them said they worked from home for some or most of the time. People in managerial functions were also more likely to work at home, although 70% of them spent most time in the office.
Figures from 2022 and quoted by the CBS show that the Dutch are more likely to work from home than people in any other member state. Sweden, Finland, Luxemburg and Ireland completed the top five.
Working from home surged during the coronavirus pandemic.
