Amsterdam Zuid train services halted after ticket machine blast
An attempt to blow up a ticket and service point at Amsterdam’s Zuid railway station has disrupted all train traffic to the station and only limited services are stopping.
The station, which connects the two sides of the Zuidas business district, has been closed to travellers while forensic experts examine the scene and the clean up operation takes place.
No-one was injured in the explosion but the blast, at around 4 am, caused a lot of damage, police said.
Dutch railway firm NS says it expects the disruption to services to last at least until 8 am.
