Police seize more than €8 million in cash from Almere home

The police have seized more than €8 million in cash from a home in Almere Haven which was raided as part of a drugs investigation.

Photos distributed by the police show bales of cash in €10, €20 and €50 denomination notes, tied with string and elastic bands and packed into holdalls and plastic bags. They also found a watch said to be worth €500,000 and some 200 kilos of drugs during their search of the property.

Two men, a 64-year-old man from Almere and a 36-year-old from Amsterdam, were arrested. They have been remanded in custody for 90 days.
