Massive power cut hits central Amsterdam, disrupts trams
Thousands of homes in Amsterdam were left without power on Monday morning after a major outage hit the city centre and western parts of the city.
People living in at least 19 different postcode districts and 41 streets are affected and grid company Liander said it would be 11.45 am at least before normal service is resumed. “An engineer is on the way”, Liander said on its website.
The breakdown has also affected public transport and most tram services are not running. Train and metro services are operating as normal, local transport company GVB said.
