Dutch royals pose for Christmas photo in The Hague
The Dutch royal family have posted for their traditional winter holiday photo, but this time opted for the steps of their home in The Hague, rather than the Lech ski resort in Austria.
King Willem-Alexander, queen Máxima and princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane posed together with their dog Mambo next to a giant Christmas tree outside the Huis ten Bosch palace.
The twice yearly photo sessions were introduced in 2005 to enable the young princesses to have as normal a life as possible.
In the code, journalists agreed not to take photographs of the royal family outside official engagements. In return, the family agreed to pose for photographs at twice-yearly sessions; once in the summer and once at the start of their skiing holiday.
