X has just one person proficient in Dutch on moderation team
Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has just one person in its moderation team who speaks Dutch with “professional proficiency”.
The moderation team is supposed to check if messages that have been reported meet the platform’s content rules alongside automated detection systems.
New European legislation, the Digital Services Act (DSA), requires companies to give insight into how many moderators they have and what languages they speak. The X transparency report shows that the company has one native Dutch speaker in its global team of 2,294 people.
By contrast, all the moderators are skilled in English, 81 speak German, 52 French and 41 Portuguese. Like Dutch, just one person speaks Croatian, Lithuanian and Polish.
Elon Musk slashed the website’s moderation team when he took over Twitter but it is unclear by how many.
