Anton Corbijn takes new royal portraits including analogue B&W
The state information service RVD has published a new series of formal portraits featuring king Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima, to mark the 10th anniversary of the king coming to the thrown earlier this year.
The photos, including an informal analogue black and white shot, were taken by Anton Corbijn in the gallery at Noordeinde palace.
Corbijn, a photographer, film director and music video director is best known for his work with musicians including long-term relationships with U2 and Depeche Mode. He made his feature film debut with Control, a film about the life of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 2007.
The last official portraits were taken in 2018 by Erwin Olaf who died in September.
