Largest cocaine haul this year found at Rotterdam
Dutch customers officers have discovered almost 3,600 kilos of cocaine hidden in a shipment of bananas at Rotterdam harbour, the public prosecutor announced.
The cocaine has a street value of €269 million and was discovered in 3,587 blocks.
It has been destroyed by a special team. The HARC cooperation of customs, harbour police, Rotterdam public prosecutor and the FIOD tax office criminal investigations branch are investigating further.
Last year, Antwerp harbour overtook Rotterdam for discoveries of smuggled drugs after a crackdown in the Netherlands.
