Hot, sunny weather to continue as dry spell nears a record
The hot, sunny weather is set to continue all week, although some cloud will move in and it will become slightly cooler towards Friday, weather forecasters say.
On Monday the temperature is likely to hit 30° again in the south, but will drop slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday, the KNMI weather bureau said.
From the middle of the month onward, there is a 50% chance of changeable weather with some rain, but also a 50% chance of the dry spell continuing, the KNMI said. Temperatures are also likely to remain above the long-term average and could top 30° from June 19, the KNMI said.
Weeronline points out that if there is no rain on Thursday – and none is forecast – a new weather record will have been set. By then there will have been 34 days with no rain at the De Bilt weather station, and that will be a first since records began in 1900.
