“Abducted” man found wandering near Beverwijk station
The English or German-speaking man who was said to have been abducted on Friday afternoon in Spanbroek has been found wandering around Beverwijk in a “confused state”.
The man was found near the station after several tips, police said on Twitter. After a medical check, the man will be questioned and, police said, they will give an update on the case on Tuesday.
Earlier police said they had arrested two men in Heerhugowaard in connection with his disappearance. Their role in the abduction is still being investigated.
On Friday police issued a photograph showing the man being held round the middle by another man in a baseball cap. He was then forced into a car with what eyewitnesses told local broadcaster NH Nieuws was “great force”. The car then took off at high speed.
Beverwijk is some 40 kilometres south of Spanbroek.
A new photograph of the man was issued on Sunday. Anyone who recognises him is being urged to contact them via 0900-8844 or the emergency number 112.
